Kuusamo Sprint
Well day one of the mini tour is a wrap. Things for me went ok I felt snappier than the last couple of weeks but still was not where I would like to be. It was super tight, with the first 65 men only seperated by ten seconds over a 3 minute course. It was an exciting day for our team with four men and one women qualifing, a huge improvement from the disappointment from last weekend.
Tomorrow is a 10km classic race in the deep cold. Overnight lows are forecasted to be -22, with a day time high of just -17. It should be cold and challenging with three massive climbs on each if the 5km loops. I am hoping to keep improving on my form and hope for a great day tomorrow for the whole team.

From the Heart of Darkness
I am in Kuusamo and reset after a couple disappointing weekends of racing. Thinks are shaping up well with a massive field of 125 set to race the mini tour here in Kuusamo. Tomorrow the tour kicks off with a 1.4km classic sprint. This is one of my favorite events and I am excited to see what I can do. The course is challenging with two massive climbs and a long flat into the finish, but it should be lots of fun. I will write something up here tomorrow (good or bad finish) so come back for more.
Season Recap 2009/2010
Even though it has been awhile since I last wrote it is not due to not being busy, more about being too lazy to write. The most exciting season of my career peaked with the Olympics in Vancouver, and even though I wasn’t able to perform up to my expectations, the games were an unbelievable experience. It was a season of many firsts for me - first European World Cups, first major Championships at the Olympic Games, first Senior National Overall title, and first time winning the FIS regional spot to earn World Cup starts for the start of the 2010/2011 season. With all of this going on there has been something else I have been doing a lot of… sitting on a plane! As I was flying down to Costa Rica for a vacation with Brittany I counted over 40 flights in the past 12 months.

Rollercoaster ride to the Olympic games!
First off all I want to thank all of my sponsors and supporters for helping me along the way to the Olympics in Vancouver. I was officially named to the Olympic team today and I am very excited to do Canada proud.
